Forbes House (previously Heathfield House) was purpose built in 2011 to service the needs of the community and has recently been thoughtfully redesigned, providing 47 beds to elderly residents and 33 beds for specialist young adult care. Split into four units over two floors with lift access and spacious corridors, Forbes caters to both elderly residents in our upper units, Coast and Shore, as well as young adults in our lower floors, Bay and Ocean.
Here at Forbes House we strive towards the same goal; to deliver the highest standard of person centred care possible built on a foundation of respect, dignity and compassion. To do this, we have an excellent team of well trained and competent nursing and care staff on site 24/7 to fulfil our residents tailor made care plans, as well as full time activities coordinators to provide opportunities to take part in meaningful activities both within the home and the wider community.
All of our residents have their own stylish en-suite rooms, complete with TV, Wi-Fi, and telephone plug points as well as views of our mature and well-maintained gardens surrounding the home. There are outdoor seating areas on our balcony and decking area and a large greenhouse where green fingered residents can grow and maintain beautiful plants.
A balanced and nutritious diet is essential to health and well-being, that is why our residents can expect a choice of meals and snacks prepared by our incredible catering staff who are on hand to create a varied and nutritious menu with fresh local ingredients, catered especially to any specific dietary requirements. Meals can be enjoyed privately in resident’s rooms, or in our wonderful dining room with company and conversation.
At Forbes House, we believe that staying active is essential to living a long and happy life. As such we have our own in-house physiotherapist to make sure our residents’ mobility needs are catered for with regular exercise classes and custom care plans to help with recovery, or to remain active for as long as possible.
